Eve was first. Every woman who came after her, was part of her. She was the first woman, the first wife, the first mother, the first grandmother, and great grandmother She blazed the trail for us. Let’s look at her life and look at what she faced, how she faced it, and what we can learn from it.
Who was Damaris and what was the reason that her name is recorded in the Bible? We will investigate who Damaris is and why her name is recorded in the Bible. We will learn that it is recorded for a very good reason, and one that is to be desired.
Who was this famous Queen? Was she valorous and showed courage in her situation? Was she villainous – having evil or wicked intentions? Or was she virtuous – standing up for what was morally right?
At times, our passion for God’s way of life wanes. When this happens, we need something to spark our interest again; something to ignite a fire within us. I would like to look at the story of Rhoda, to see if we can ignite a passion for God, His way of life, and for striving for the Kingdom.
What did Jesus mean by that short statement, “Remember Lot’s wife”? What does that woman of ancient times have to do with people who are watching the closeout of history? Why did the Jesus relate Mrs. Lot to our day? Jesus used her as a fearful warning.
What is living water? Why did Jesus loudly proclaim, during a much beloved Jerusalem temple ceremony, that it (living water) existed? Is this water of life strictly symbolic?
We are going to look at the story of Herodias. We will see that a life lived in a corrupt manner in the pursuit of gain and recognition without respect for others will make one consumed with sin and eventually lead to destruction.
As we look into the life of Priscilla, let’s learn what we can from a spiritually dedicated and faithful woman in the early church.
The scriptures are few that speak about Phoebe, but those scriptures picture a Godly woman one is called to admire and respect.
