This short vignette portrayed here in Acts has three major players. Paul, the apostle, a free born Roman Citizen of Tarsus, Marcus Antonius Felix the Procurator of Judea, and his wife Drusilla. Let’s examine who these three people are and what we can learn from them to help us in our personal walk with God.
Through the story of Potiphar’s wife and Joseph, we are going to learn about temptation in all its various forms, and how we should respond to it and overcome it.
Xerxes says that he will give Esther anything “up to half his kingdom,” so why has she delayed in making her request to Xerxes? Would Esther maintain her courage to follow through on her plan?
As Esther spends more time in the royal palace, God continues to work in her life. As with most people, we don’t usually see God working in our life at first, but as time passes, it becomes more apparent. Let’s look at Esther’s maturing life and see how God is working with her and how she responds.
The Persian nation is without a queen. This made it possible for Esther to become queen. How does a foreign orphan girl like Esther, with no stature or influence, find herself coming to the position where she can become queen?
From the story of Dinah, we can learn that consequences result from neglecting God. Let’s look in detail at the story of Dinah and find out what consequences result from neglecting God and how we can avoid them.
Eve was first. Every woman who came after her, was part of her. She was the first woman, the first wife, the first mother, the first grandmother, and great grandmother She blazed the trail for us. Let’s look at her life and look at what she faced, how she faced it, and what we can learn from it.
Who was Damaris and what was the reason that her name is recorded in the Bible? We will investigate who Damaris is and why her name is recorded in the Bible. We will learn that it is recorded for a very good reason, and one that is to be desired.
Who was this famous Queen? Was she valorous and showed courage in her situation? Was she villainous – having evil or wicked intentions? Or was she virtuous – standing up for what was morally right?
