The law of just retribution that God gave to Moses in Exodus 21 was designed to provide justice to injured parties in a dispute. It prevented endless cycles of retribution between people from being started. As future judges, we need to understand how this law works and the higher standards we are called to meet as disciples of Jesus Christ.
