“1 Peter 2:5 – In His Hands, We Are Built”

Pastor’s Letters

Warm hellos to you dear brethren, co-workers, and spiritual family here on the Coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and scattered children of God.

My wife and I pray and hope this finds you all doing well, and that again your week has been blessed!

My wife and I have just returned home after having an encouraging, uplifting and inspiring Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day in Montgomery, Alabama. We spent a couple days in Fort Walton Beach afterwards with a couple meetings and some time to relax and reflect on what we had learned and experienced at God’s Feast.

One of the first things we noticed upon returning home to our subdivision where we live in Spanish Fort was the lawn decorations for my least favorite time of year, Halloween. There were some huge balloon type decorations that were some of the largest I have ever seen. Every year they seem to get bigger and more intricate.

I had to think, what do most people today “think” of Halloween? In fact, I have to wonder if they think about it at all, or just simply continue on in their daily lives, and it’s just another holiday in the progression of the year, and all good fun. Right? Wrong!

Parents dress their young children as vampires, devils, zombies, witches, goblins and the like and then send them out to approach homes of often complete strangers to ask for candy and other goodies.

Homes are decorated with various sorts and images of everything one can imagine to turn their homes for a few days into replicas of graveyards, morgues, or similar gruesome areas with an oversite of death and decay and mayhem.

My email inbox has been inundated with various companies using this holiday to focus for use in increasing sales, and revenue.

Why is all this so popular? Do we stop and think, or even ask where these Godless customs came from? Does it matter?

Just as with Easter or Christmas we can trace the beginnings of Halloween back to pagan origins in ancient history.

Rather than go into great detail here in this Friday evening letter, I’ll simply ask us all to do some research, dig into your history books, and especially your Bible and see where this came from and then also see if this is something God supports, created, designed or even thought of for you and me as Christians to be taking part of. Is this next Thursday, October 31 a day we should be involved in any way with this holiday?

I’ll be giving a sermon tomorrow on this very topic to those who wish to connect with The Living God Ministries live services via telephone…”Halloween & the Garden of Eden…Coincidence?”

There is a master mind behind this evil holiday…no surprise there…hope you’ll join in and listen, I promise you it will clearly show what God’s approach is to this day.

…as I close this letter, as I do every Friday evening…as we enter His Sabbath…reflect on this with me, will you?

And again, may God continue to richly bless you. Our prayers and thoughts are with you daily. Please do pray for us as well.
