“1 Peter 2:5 – In His Hands, We Are Built”
The reason Luke was inspired to record the miracle performed by Jesus was because, Jesus was establishing the validity of his ministry and his authority as a prophet. He is a messenger from God sent to show compassion on His people and to give them a purpose.
The teaching by Jesus of the Parable of the 10 Virgins is not of a spiritual moral lesson, but he was speaking about our destiny when God Almighty closes the curtain on this evil age. The parable’s focus is to be ready for the bridegroom’s coming and the coming of the Kingdom of God.
Lois and Eunice are mentioned by name in only one short scripture in the Bible. This short mention of them tells a story from which we can gain much knowledge about them. They were faithful believers and they passed that faith and belief on to their child.
By looking at the story of the Woman Caught in Adultery, we’ll see that even though the Scribes and Pharisees wanted to use the law to trip Jesus up, this story is not showing a tolerance for sin but one of respect for the law.
This short vignette portrayed here in Acts has three major players. Paul, the apostle, a free born Roman Citizen of Tarsus, Marcus Antonius Felix the Procurator of Judea, and his wife Drusilla. Let’s examine who these three people are and what we can learn from them to help us in our personal walk with God.
Through the story of Potiphar’s wife and Joseph, we are going to learn about temptation in all its various forms, and how we should respond to it and overcome it.
Who was Damaris and what was the reason that her name is recorded in the Bible? We will investigate who Damaris is and why her name is recorded in the Bible. We will learn that it is recorded for a very good reason, and one that is to be desired.
At times, our passion for God’s way of life wanes. When this happens, we need something to spark our interest again; something to ignite a fire within us. I would like to look at the story of Rhoda, to see if we can ignite a passion for God, His way of life, and for striving for the Kingdom.
We are going to look at the story of Herodias. We will see that a life lived in a corrupt manner in the pursuit of gain and recognition without respect for others will make one consumed with sin and eventually lead to destruction.
