Many have just observed the Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day, but the world around us is getting ready to celebrate a very dark holiday – Halloween. We will look into the themes we heard at the Feast and the background of the observance of Halloween.
It is interesting to note in the study of human cultures that every culture of every tribe or nation or state or religion in human history has developed and established various days for worship and celebration. Let’s analyze this holiday from a perspective we may not have given much thought about. Is it from God, and/or should it be observed? Let’s go back to the Garden of Eden and take a closer look.
What does God expect with respect to our clothing when we come to worship on the Sabbath and Holy Days? We will examine scripture and find some surprising analogies and instruction with respect to the clothing we wear when we come to worship God.
The Truth that those called out from this world and part of the Church of God celebrate every year during the Last Great Day is one of the most beautiful understandings the church possesses.
In 1942, one of the most terrifying battles in modern military history took place, the battle of Stalingrad. In any military battle the term enemy is used to describe an army’s opponent. This term can take on the most visceral quality as two armies engage in battle. The enemies in this battle are used as an analogy to help us understand the term enemy in scripture, in multiple lights, and that when Christ returns as a conquering king when he will put down all the enemies of mankind.
