Spiritual Inflammation – April 12, 2019

We’ll soon be observing the Passover Memorial Service and spring Feast Days of Unleavened Bread. I pray you will all have a reflective, meditative and inspiring observance and celebration of these upcoming days.

Will you discover any leavened food that you had missed before the Feast and have to throw out after the Feast begins? Perhaps you’ll find it after the days are complete? This will only be part of the lesson of these days.

What Must We Be Watching? – March 29, 2019

Last Friday evening I mentioned that we’ve been discussing in one of our evening fellowship opportunities over the phone the background of David as a shepherd. While caring for the flock he oversaw, we discussed that David talked with God in prayer, and also mused, meditated, and pondered the heavens, stars, and how small in comparison man indeed is. (Psalm 8:3-7)

We also discussed a few scriptures that describe some profound astronomical events that will take place, including the sun becoming dark, and the moon turning to blood in the future. “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.” (Joel 2:31)

The History of the Passover – March 15, 2019

We will soon be coming into the month of April (or more importantly the month of Abib according to the Hebrew calendar). Most of us will be celebrating the Passover Thursday evening, April 18. It is that time of year to contemplate the events and experiences of the past year and review why we observe this special ceremony and what it means to us.

I find myself frequently returning to the history of the Passover celebration recorded in the Book of Exodus. It was such a powerful and profound event! If we neglect to examine that description, then we miss foundational instructions and typology.
